### Give Your Child a Confident Start in Chinese

Primary 1 marks a significant milestone in your child's educational journey. At The Eton Academy, our Primary 1 Chinese programme is specially designed to give young learners the strong start they need. Carefully aligned with the MOE syllabus, our programme builds essential skills in listening, speaking, writing, and reading, while nurturing fluency, confidence, and academic readiness.

Through a blend of interactive lessons, storytelling, cultural exploration, and hands-on experiences, we create a joyful and effective learning environment where children feel motivated and empowered to express themselves in Mandarin. Led by experienced and dedicated educators, your child will be well-prepared to thrive in school and develop a love for Chinese that extends far beyond the classroom.

Our Primary 1 Chinese curriculum is thoughtfully aligned with Singapore's MOE syllabus*《欢乐伙伴》*and nurtures your child's skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through thematic modules and creative classroom experiences, your child will build confidence, vocabulary, and literacy step by step.  support your child's transition into primary school, cultivating a solid foundation and a genuine passion for Chinese Language.

We build on the early language fundamentals and deepen your child's mastery through a structured, engaging approach. In-class learning features vocabulary building, sentence construction, and reading comprehension through relatable themes, storytelling, literary classics, and interactive experiences that make learning meaningful and enjoyable. 

 

**Learning Wonderland - Chinese Characters and Pinyin**

学习乐园—汉字与拼音

This foundational module is based on Singapore's Happy Companions Chinese textbook and focuses on character recognition, writing, pinyin, radicals, strokes, and sentence construction. Through interactive hands-on learning and games, children build strong language fundamentals in a fun and engaging way. 

**Speaking and Reading Corner**

学习天地—口试与阅读

Through picture-based speaking practice and real-life scenarios (e.g., school, playground, library), children expand their vocabulary and develop confidence in expressing themselves in Chinese. Reading practice featuring rhymes and short stories further strengthen word recognition and language sense, while introducing useful phrases in meaningful contexts.  

**Learning Steps - Review and Enrichment**

学习阶梯—复习与拓展

Our lessons support reinforcement of key concepts while introducing new knowledge through enjoyable and engaging experiences. It allows children to consolidate what they've learned and explore advanced language applications.

**Treasure Box - Picture-Based Writing**

学习宝盒—看图写作

Using familiar scenes such as seaside or park as inspiration, children develop observation and writing skills. They progress from identifying vocabulary to crafting complete, meaningful sentences that lays the foundation for creative writing.
