Programme

Our EAL programme brings English to life through hands-on learning. Students develop essential language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, by exploring everyday topics and images. Our trusted curriculum is crafted by EAL specialists and provides personalised guidance in a nurturing environment, helping students build confidence and master English.

The Eton Academy’s EAL (English as an Additional Language) programmes are designed for children aged 7 to 12 who are learning English as a new or additional language. Conducted at EtonHouse International School, Orchard, our courses help students gain the confidence and skills to communicate effectively and succeed in an English-speaking environment. Over 25 weeks, learners will develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities through engaging, interactive lessons guided by experienced educators.

All new students will take a diagnostic test to determine their current English proficiency and be placed in the level that best supports their learning progress. 

Programme

EAL Starters (Beginners)

The EAL Starters programme is designed for young learners who are new to English. Through interactive lessons, songs, games, and visual aids, students build a solid foundation in everyday vocabulary, phonics, and simple sentence structures. Lessons focus on listening and speaking confidence, while gradually introducing reading and writing. The nurturing environment helps each child communicate comfortably in English, preparing them for greater fluency and independence in future stages.

EAL Climbers (Pre-Intermediate)

The EAL Climbers programme supports students who already understand basic English and are ready to strengthen their grammar, vocabulary, and sentence-building skills. Through stories, discussions, and project-based activities, learners improve their reading comprehension, writing accuracy, and spoken fluency. Students gain confidence expressing ideas in complete sentences and expand from everyday English to academic readiness for mainstream subjects.
